This website was created by Joseph Husby for Dan Grigsby's MGMT 3010 class at the University of Minnesota.  Joseph is a junior in the honors computer science program, and enjoys building websites.

On October 7, 2009, Dan introduced the class Search Engine Optimization (SEO) project.  The goal is to rank #1 in a Google search for the phrase "Zompire Dracularius" by whatever means possible, with points being deducted for bad publicity.  Last year, the SEO keyword was "Abalastow Compendium" and a couple kids started an "Abalastow Compendium virus" hoax.  They stated that anyone who had "svchost.exe" in their list of Windows processes was infected with the virus and that there was no known fix.  Therefore, the "points deducted for bad publicity" clause was added on for this year's competition.

On December 16, 2009, the last day of class, Dan will Google "Zompire Dracularius" and let it determine the winners of the competition (along with grades on this project).  Many students have chosen to write U of M or Wordpress blogs in order to rank for "Zompire Dracularius" by getting back-links to their blogs.  A smaller handful of students went off and registered domain names such as http://www.Zompire-Dracularius.com in order to utterly cream compete fairly with the competition.
